When I tried to get in, the lady in the lobby said, &#8220;Take a number and abandon all hope.&#8221;<br>I asked, &#8220;Is there a easier way to get into Hell?&#8221;<br>The lady asked, &#8220;Have you tried traditional publishing?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I summoned the demon of traditional publishing.<br>From behind a desk, with horns held high and glasses lowered, the demon asked, &#8220;You dare to submit without an agent?&#8221;<br>I cried out, &#8220;I submit.&#8221;<br>The demon said, &#8220;To the slush pile! Your submissions are unworthy.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agent said, &#8220;We aren&#8217;t taking submissives, I mean, submissions right now.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s getting harder and harder to get into Hell these days.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Things have changed since my last visit to Hell.
